Yes, you can move your Bitcoin from eToro to an external wallet, but only through the eToro Money app. Download it on iOS or Android, transfer your BTC there, then send it to any wallet that supports Bitcoin. Simple process, but you’ll need to meet a few requirements first.

Only Real Bitcoin Transfers Are Allowed

You can’t move Bitcoin CFDs (contract for difference) or leveraged positions but only the actual crypto you own. If you bought Bitcoin directly on eToro (not with leverage or as a short), you’re good to go.

Make Sure Your Account’s Verified

You’ll need a fully verified eToro account (you can open one here). That means submitting your ID and passing all the necessary KYC checks. No shortcuts here.

We have a detailed guide for that here.

Download the eToro Money Wallet App

The eToro Money app is your bridge. It connects to your eToro trading account and holds your crypto before it can move off the platform.

How to Start the Transfer

Doing the transfer only takes a few clicks. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open your portfolio.
  2. Find your Bitcoin position
  3. Hit “Transfer to Wallet.”

It can take a few hours, but that varies depending on network conditions and internal checks.

Moving BTC to Your External Wallet

Once your Bitcoin lands in the eToro Money wallet, you can send it to any external BTC address.

Keep this in mind: blockchain fees apply, and depending on the currency, you might see a conversion fee too.

Planning to transfer? A few more personal tips here:
  • Transfers are final. Once it’s off eToro, there’s no way to send it back to your trading account. I made that mistake once, so be careful.
  • Some transactions may be restricted. If you used certain payment methods or the funds are still locked under time limits, transfers might not be available yet.
  • Minimum amounts and fees apply. Check eToro’s fees before you start to avoid surprises.

eToro is a multi-asset platform which offers both investing in stocks and cryptoassets, as well as trading CFDs.

Please note that CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 61% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work, and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
